Why Armourshake Fits DFW Roofs

Armourshake is the answer for Southlake, Westlake and Colleyville homes where the architecture calls for cedar shake but the HOA, the fire code or the maintenance budget doesn't. It carries the same Class A fire rating as any asphalt roof and needs none of the treating, splitting or replacement cycle real shake demands in Texas heat.

How ADC Installs Armourshake

Heavyweight product — verify decking condition and plan for extra labor and material weight. Use a matching IKO hip and ridge cap; standard three-tab cap looks undersized against the deep Armourshake tab.

Armourshake — Frequently Asked Questions

Q.Does Armourshake really look like wood shake?

From the street, yes. The oversized tabs and deep laminate shadow lines produce the random depth of hand-split shake, which flat architectural shingles can't match.

Q.How does it compare to synthetic shake tile?

Composite shake (DaVinci, for example) costs more and lasts longer, but Armourshake gets you most of the look at asphalt pricing and installs on a normal roof deck with no special framing.

Q.Is it worth the upgrade over a standard architectural shingle?

On a steep, highly visible roof with dormers and gables, the depth reads dramatically better. On a low, mostly hidden roof, the money is usually better spent on impact resistance.
